Businesses that are “accredited” by BBB and have signed a contract which includes a name and logo-use agreement may advertise their participation as a BBB Accredited Business in newspapers, periodicals, billboards, posters, direct mail flyers, yellow pages or other directory advertising, telephone on-hold messages, television or radio commercials, business cards, stationery, invoices, facsimile cover sheets, and other business documents that are circulated or stay within the 18 counties described below.
Not every accredited business is authorized to use BBB logo. Accreditation through BBB includes:
- Agree to participate in and comply with a meaningful dispute resolution process when unresolved customer complaints are brought to BBB’s attention; and
- Agree to advertise their accreditation ONLY in BBB’s service area which encompasses eighteen counties including: Bailey, Borden, Cochran, Crosby, Dawson, Dickens, Floyd, Gaines, Garza, Hale, Hockley, Kent, Lamb, Lubbock, Lynn, Motley, Terry & Yoakum
If a business does not wish to use the torch logo graphic, then the following exact wording can be used: BBB Accredited Business
Important Notes:
Use of the words Better Business Bureau, BBB, member of BBB, member since, accredited, accredited by or any other similar verbiage is strictly prohibited in both online AND offline advertising!
The minimum allowable size is 3 Picas (.5 inches) high; 3 different electronic formats are available and in two colors, black and BBB Blue.
Use of logo on web sites and in web advertising is strictly prohibited UNLESS the company also participates in the BBBOnline™ seal program in which the logo is a live link to a landing page and the online BBB Reliability Report™
